Web / UX Copy

The strategic scope of writing for web makes UX and webpage copy projects some of my favorites.

Comcast Ventures helps to build the innovations of tomorrow -- but in order to do that, they need a website as forward-looking as they are. We made it happen.

Comcast Ventures

Celebrity chef Richard Blais brought fun and dynamism to the menu at Chipotle's burger upstart. To make sure that was reflected online, we gave their site a makeover.

Tasty Made

Chipotle's homepage is visited by about 3 Million people a month. To keep their web presence feeling as fresh as their ingredients, we update their homepage copy often.

 Comcast Ventures

The first web project I ever worked on was a website rebrand for Comcast Ventures. They wanted to re-shape their old, clunky site into something that felt smoother, stronger, simpler, and put their client stories first. The result? This, simple, confident celebration of Comcast's rainbow gradient. It represents the transition of present into future, as well as the invaluable corporate resources Comcast brings to their venture partnerships.

My role on this project went far beyond copywriting, encompassing everything from mapping out the UX, to helping with the wireframes, to walking the client through our work on calls, to writing up our strategic recommendations.

While I ultimately changed jobs before this project's conclusion, much of my copy remains untouched, including the overarching mission statement.

Tasty Made

Tasty Made

Chipotle launched their burger concept, Tasty Made, in October, 2016. Their simple menu of burgers, shakes, and fries made with high-quality ingredients was delicious from the start, but when celebrity chef Richard Blais came aboard in 2017, things got even better -- that's when the team knew it was time for a re-brand.

We spiffed up their web presence with the kind of fun and lightheartedness Richard had brought to their new menu, telling their stories in a way that felt less like Chipotle and more authentic to Lancaster, Ohio, where the brand was based.

Beyond writing Tasty Made's webpage, I also worked on naming Richard's new burgers and menu items (pro tip: every burger name is already taken) and created fun phrases for their new packaging and in-store materials. For a brief, shining moment (the concept shut down in spring 2018), I also wrote all their social media.

Every month or so, the touts on Chipotle's homepage need to be rotated to keep the site looking fresh.

Whether they're working to support new product rollouts, driving traffic to our brand stories, or serving as signposts to direct curious customers, they're on the frontlines, representing the entire Chipotle brand.
